2-Day Brighton Workshop

£380.00
Date:

The aim of this two-day street photography workshop in Brighton is to uncover a more intuitive way of working and help you develop your own creative vision, while bringing a deeper sense of curiosity and playfulness to your practice. Of course, finding your voice is an ongoing practice – it's not something that can be cracked in a few days. But my aim is to help you take the first steps on a journey of exploring new ways of noticing what naturally captures or escapes your attention – wherever you are.

During this workshop I’ll provide a space to review your portfolio and discuss your strengths and weaknesses. We’ll also be going out on the streets of Brighton where I like to give each participant some one-to-one time in order to understand what it is you’d like to achieve. The beauty of a small group (six people max) is that you’ll also be learning from each other in a safe and encouraging atmosphere. We’ll be walking, talking, observing and making photos – as well as stopping for a rest and a bite to eat.

I’ve lived in Brighton since 2001 so I know its streets, the light and energy of the city very well. I can show you the unlikely spots where I’ve taken award-winning photographs, the trials and tribulations behind them, and how I trained my eye to increase my chances of finding what I’m hoping to see.

If you’re feeling stuck, then this is a good starting point to help you overcome creative blocks, break out of old habits and take an intentional step towards identifying your own unique voice. At the end of the workshop, you’ll go home with a creative tank full of inspiration, ideas and new ways of seeing things – as well as some experimental images that hopefully mark the beginning of a new journey.
