1-Day London Workshop

£190.00
Date:

This one-day street photography workshop in central London is designed to help you develop a more intuitive way of working. We’ll discuss what it means to develop your own creative vision, and examine how curiosity and playfulness can play a key role in enhancing your work. While honing your voice is a long-term project, my aim is to help you take the first steps on a journey of seeing the street in a more proactive, intentional and creative way – wherever you are.

During this workshop I’ll provide a space to review your portfolio and discuss your strengths and weaknesses. We’ll also be going out on the streets of central London where I like to spend some one-on-one time with each participant in order to understand what it is you’d like to achieve. The beauty of a small group (six people max) is that you’ll also be learning from each other in a safe and encouraging atmosphere. We’ll be walking, talking, observing and making photos – as well as stopping for a rest and a bite to eat.

I came to know London well when I lived there in my twenties, working as a graphic designer. While the city has changed massively since then, I’m not looking for images that say “London” in particular – rather, as with any location, I’m searching for those spontaneous moments of visual delight that tickle my own creative tastebuds.

So if you’re feeling stuck, then this is a good place to start overcoming creative blocks, breaking out of old habits and taking an intentional step towards identifying your own unique voice. At the end of the workshop, you’ll go home with a creative tank full of inspiration, ideas and new ways of seeing things – as well as some experimental images that hopefully mark the beginning of a new journey.

Online session – one week before

  • Submit a small selection of your own photographs for group feedback.

  • Receive constructive feedback from myself and the group.

  • Optional assignment for anyone who wants to experiment and try out ideas before the in-person workshop.
