1-Day Brighton Workshop
This one-day street photography workshop in Brighton is designed to help you develop a more intuitive way of working. We’ll talk about what it means to develop your own creative vision, and examine how curiosity and playfulness can play a key role in enhancing your work. While developing your voice is an ongoing practice, my aim is to help you take the first steps on a journey of seeing the street in a more proactive, intentional and creative way – wherever you are.
During this workshop I’ll provide a space to review your portfolio and discuss your strengths and weaknesses. We’ll also be going out on the busy, vibrant streets of Brighton where I like to spend some one-to-one time with each participant to get an idea of what you’d like to achieve. As a small group (six people max) you’ll also benefit from learning from each other in a supportive atmosphere. We’ll be walking, talking, observing and making photos – as well as stopping for a rest and a bite to eat.
I’ve lived in Brighton since 2001 so I know the streets, light and energy of the city very well. I can show you the unlikely spots where I’ve taken some of my best photographs, the trials and tribulations behind them, and how I trained my eye to increase my chances of finding what I’m hoping to see.
If you’re feeling stuck, then this is a great reset opportunity to awaken your creative cogs and take an intentional step towards identifying your own unique voice. At the end of the workshop, you’ll go home with a creative tank full of new ideas and ways of seeing things – as well as some experimental images that hopefully mark a new chapter in your street photography journey.
